This was my first time reading a novel in the science fiction sub-genre of "cli-fi", or climate fiction, aaaaand I might be scarred for life. To be more specific, I would call it climate-change-induced-dystopian-near-future-horror with a cautionary, almost happy ending.
I didn't get a lot of personal enjoyment from it, but I rated it 9.5 out of 10, and it will definitely be on the list of favorite books I read in 2023.
