Trying gouache on 100% cotton paper for the first time was a true pleasure...
I progressed mentally a lot with what this technique can do... from day to day I saw many different sides of it, from several levels of a thick paste, to leaving white spaces like you would do working with watercolours...
Some combination of both made me fall in love with the result... And get so many ideas for entire scenes, and hopefully, I will not abandon it this year...
What I wanted is to create something like a new style for me to build my character designs with. And finish my first picture book the same way...
Meanwhile, there is a balance every freelance illustrator has to make, and that is commissions first, and then if there is empty space in time, using it restlessly for doing your thing...

For me, it is hard to transfer from one thing to another during the day, but 2020 is the year in which I want to master that method...:))))))
