I recently caught up with Big Brother 25 winner Jag Bains just two days after his historic victory on the show. It was clear from our conversation that Jag was still in disbelief about winning, describing the entire experience as "surreal" and "a dream."

When I asked Jag about his strategy early on of trying to remain loyal to everyone, he admitted that was a flawed approach. As he put it, "if you're loyal to everyone, you're loyal to no one." But everything changed for Jag after he was shockingly evicted from the #BB25 house. At that moment, he looked crushed and felt his game was over.

However, in an unexpected twist, Jag was saved and allowed back into the house. He explained that this second chance completely shifted his strategy. He committed to fully loyal to his ally Matt for the rest of the game, saying "at this point, it is game on." Although he wasn't sure he could beat Matt at the end, Jag's priority became upholding his loyalty no matter what. Jag and Matt Klotz formed a Final 2 alliance called The Minutemen.

Jag won the jury vote 5 to 2. The jury members who voted for Jag were: Bowie Jane, America, Blue, Cory, and .
The jury members who voted for Matt were: Felicia, Cirie.

I questioned whether Jag ever considered cutting Matt to boost his own chances of winning. But he insisted he never contemplated betraying his ally and friend. As Jag put it, "I would rather lose sitting next to Matt than take the coward's way out." He wanted to hold his head high and play with integrity, even if it jeopardized his game.

Remarkably, Jag's steadfast loyalty ended up paying off hugely. He spoke about the incredible feeling of making it to the end with Matt, playing the game on his terms, and still managing to win. Against all odds, everything aligned perfectly for Jag's victory.

Beyond his strategic approach, I also asked Jag about making Big Brother history as the first Sikh houseguest and winner. He didn't enter the house expecting to win competitions or set records. But Jag ended up dominating challenges, breaking the records for most wins by a houseguest in a single season. He broke records with seven Power of Veto wins.

When I brought up his achievement, Jag was clearly shocked and humbled. He admitted he was simply fighting for his life in the game and trying to protect his allies. The fact that he accomplished so much as a competitor was icing on the cake.

Most importantly for Jag, he was able to stay true to himself and represent his community on the show. As the first Sikh-Punjab houseguest, he hoped to showcase that he was just a human, with the same quirks, jokes, and emotions as anyone else. Jag was proud to act as a role model and break stereotypes about his culture.

As we wrapped up the interview, I congratulated Jag again on his victory. He spoke so fondly about his friendship and loyalty to Matt. It was heartwarming to see his perspective on placing his morals and values above just winning. Jag proved you can play Big Brother with integrity while still coming out on top to win the $750,000 prize, while Matt placed second.

With his historic BB win, captivating personality, and record-breaking competition abilities, it's clear Jag Bains has a bright future ahead. His victory is inspiring to viewers and demonstrates that with determination, being yourself, and staying loyal, you can achieve your dreams. Jag is sure to be remembered as one of the most iconic houseguests in Big Brother history.
