Las Roques is one of the population entities that make up the municipality of Fasnia, in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Place names
The name of the town derives from the two rocks that are on its coast, called Morro de Tierra and Roque de Fuera. In the Canary Islands, the rocks that rise on land or in the sea are called "roque".
Geography
It is a coastal neighborhood located about seven kilometers from the municipal capital, at an altitude of about 30 meters above sea level. Two nuclei are differentiated: one of traditional self-construction houses, and the other that forms an urbanization. It also has an apartment building.
It has a hermitage dedicated to Saint Roque, a sports field, a cultural center and a gas station. Here you will also find the Fasnia Farmer's Market.
The town has the beaches of El Abrigo and Los Roques.
A small part of its surface is included in the natural monument of Barranco de GĂźĂmar y Fasnia.
