Film music composer Santhosh Narayanan has made a genre bending song that's hard to classify. It has elements of EDM, Kuthu, Gana, Rap, and chiptune music! Different cultures may interpret it differently. A breakdown of this crazy day-dream sequence song in the crime comedy film "Soodhu Kavvum"

Different musicians were asked about the rhythm of this song and they gave answers that seem to indicate that they are focusing
(1)either on the steady kick drum beats only
OR
(2) on both the kick drums and the scat
to describe the rhythm of this song.

In the case of optical illusion drawings, studies have found factors like culture and exposure determines which interpretation of the drawing we see first.

Similarly here it is possible that the cultural differences may be causing these differences.
Tamil/ Indian musicians have more exposure to 6-count folk beats, and also have more exposure to the widespread use of meaningless scat-like sounds to indicate rhythm, such as ra ki ta, tha ki ta, jingu cha, dinku cha kun etc.
Western musicians are likely to have had less exposure to these two things, and have much more exposure to 4 count rhythms. These are possible reasons for why they focused on different parts of the song to describe its rhythm.
