This tutorial applies to BMW 3 Series F30 F31 F32 F33 F34. The same steps can be applied to other cars such as F20 1 series, F22 2 series, F80 M3, F82 M4, and F87 M2 but a different model of screen would need to be purchased.

This does not require an MMI unit since carplay & android auto are built into the screen itself.

This unit runs Android 11. The screen size is 10.25” and resolution is 1920x1080. I opted for the 4GB RAM unit, and I’d say that’s the minimum. The OS itself uses 1.8GB constantly.
