Dear followers! The journey of discovering English-taught, economics/business related bachelors continues;)

Stefan (instagram: sim_meisterr) and Maximilian kindly agreed to share their experience of applying and studying at Fachhochschule des BFI Wien, European Economy and Business Management program (an English-taught bachelor).

Before I list the questions we answered I just want to say (after talking to students from different universities and hearing their stories of finding the program that works best for them) that is is totally normal to try out more than 1 program before you find the one. And what works perfectly for one person, might not fit another person at all.

For example, Stefan studied at the University of Vienna and at WU WISO (business, economics and social sciences German taught bachelor program) before going to FH des BFI and liking it the best out of the 3 choices. A girl that studies with Stefan and Max was going to apply to WU but then decided to apply to FH instead.

Another girl I know went to FH des BFI Wien but then she switched to WU WISO because FH wasn't right for her. A girl who studies Banking and Finance at FH told me that even though it is relatively easy to get accepted, studying and passing many exams at FH is very challenging (we discuss this in more detail during the interview).

On the one hand, I know 2 people who got accepted to WU BBE in 2021 but then one of them decided to drop out to study chemistry and the other one decided to drop out and study forestry. A person from my cohort at WU BBE dropped out to become a DJ. And on the other hand, many people I know and I are really enjoying the studies at WU BBE.

It is amazing how diverse these stories are. That is why, do not freak out about having everything figured out when you are just graduating high school. Life may take a turn you could never see coming.

Feel free to share your stories in the comments below to cheer up soon-to-be-uni-students who are stressed about making the right choice!;)

The questions answered in this interview:

Questions from my instagram (maria.teachie) followers:
How difficult is the entrance exam? What is the structure of it?

NOT a question but an important note: students who do NOT have a school leaving certificate, which is equivalent to the Austrian one, will need to pass supplementary examination (e.g., an extra math test), and in 2022, one of them is on the 28th of June (the same day as the entrance exam to WU BBE). So be careful and check that your university entrance exam do not overlap with each other.
