Hidden in the Bedford, Indiana woods, up a rugged dirt path, beside the beautiful Milwaukee Trail, Is Stack Rock. It’s an absolutely enormous stack of limestone, left from an abandoned quarry, and from a distance: it looks like a castle on a hill. But on the other side, is an ever-changing display of colors and opinions, from the political to the profane, only there until the next idea comes to replace it.

This video travels the beautiful Milwaukee Trail, across bridges, through limestone valleys and along a beautiful Lawrence County Indiana creek.

SPECIAL NOTE
Hi! Since I posted this video, I’ve learned that stack rock is on private property. There are no “NO TRESPASSING SIGNS” posted anywhere, and it was my assumption that it was either owned by the town of Bedford, or it was part of the Milwaukee Trail. As it is private property, know that trespassing can have legal consequences for anyone that goes to stack rock.

My intention was not to upset anyone by a video. I make films to document significant historical and cultural places, and that was the reason I made this video in the first place. Generations of people have come here to leave their mark, if only for a season. It’s my sincere hope that it will bring back fond memories, to people that have been there, as well as educate others about the rich Lawrence County history.
