In our group, Ivan is the GPS and map master so it made sense when Marc one of the key guys for the Classique asked for his help in creating some new routes for the event. For those of you who don't know the Classique is the largest dual sport/adventure bike event in Canada. Close to 1000 riders will be heading out on six different routes over two days. Several of the routes were ones we knew but still needed to be checked for obstacles and washouts. The first few were totally new and based solely on Ivan's research on the computer and some old maps he had. Lots of face-slapping branches, quite a few rocks, a little mud and some decent climbs made for a great day.
