A quick history of the Philippine Plaza and Sofitel.

1976: Inception and Opening

1980s-1990s: Development and Renovation

• Renovations: The hotel underwent several renovations to update its facilities and maintain its status as a premier luxury destination in the Philippines.

• Ownership Changes: It went through various ownership and management changes, eventually coming under the management of the AccorHotels group.

2007: Rebranding to Sofitel

• Rebranding: The hotel was rebranded as Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, aligning it with Sofitel’s luxury French hospitality brand.

• Upgrades: Extensive renovations were carried out to upgrade the rooms, public areas, and amenities to meet Sofitel’s high standards.
