On his State visit to Egypt on 25th June 2023, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India ‪@pmoindia‬ Mr Narendra Modi visited the historic Al-Hakim Masjid in Cairo. Shahzada Husain Burhanuddin, son of the leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, was present on the occasion to warmly receive the PM.

The Masjid is also known as Al-Anwar, meaning "the Luminous", similar in style to the name of the earlier Al-Azhar Mosque founded by the Fatimids. It is the second-largest Masjid in the city of Cairo and the fourth oldest.

The significance of this Masjid extends beyond its architectural grandeur, holding deep cultural and religious importance for the Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community.
