Rajarajeswara Temple in Taliparamba, Kannur district of Kerala was one of the 108 temples of old Kerala dedicated to lord Shiva. This temple of today's structure was built by the King of Mushika Dynasty. This temple had 7 storey Rajagopuram one of the tallest of it's times stood majestic until it was destroyed during Tipu sultan's invasion. Here Lord Shiva is worshipped in form of Sankaranarayanan which means both Shiva & Vishnu's presence is here. Women were not allowed during day time, were allowed only after 7.00 pm. as this is the Rajasabha of Shiva. This temple has connections with Kottiyur temple. This temple is visited & worshipped by famous Political personals. Union Minister Amit shah, Tamilnadu's Ex CM. Jayalalita, Karnataka's Ex. CM. Yediyurappa had visited this temple. This temple is different from other Shiva temple's in Kerala.
