OJUDE OBA 2022 - ONE OF THE BIGGEST FESTIVALS IN NIGERIA
Ojude oba is an ancient festival celebrated by the people of Ijebu-ode, a popular town in Ogin state, Nigeria. It is celebrated annually on the third day of Eid (Ileya) to pay homage and show respect to the Royal Majesty, The Awujale of Ijebuland.

Cultural age group called Regberegbe, traders, families of horse owners and indigenes parade at the front of the king's palace. Ojude oba attracts visitors from within and outside Nigeria.

Special thanks to my elder brother Owolabi who spent his entire day with me at the festival. Together, we went from place to place, capturing moments, I don't know how he understands the assignment so well because he kept calling my attention to moments that need to be captured, looking out for me in the crowd and making sure I had something to eat while working. it was an event that lasted the entire day- and continued the next day, it also rained cats and dogs. So I really appreciate his help and support, God bless you Brodami.

My mum also stopped by to check on us and encouraged me to wait for the arrival of the horses. It took so long for them to arrive. I love culture, and apart from just watching the horses pass by my aunt's house while I was a teenager, this is the first time I'm experiencing the festival full fledge.
