Hello lovelies, this edit was a big case of Rage Vidding, i spent two days straight editing this (on the eve of my exam, that's how much i love Castiel) and while this isn't very good quality, i'm glad i made it, because that last episode overlooked so much about castiel the person, and not only made it all about a ''one sided'' ship where cas gives and gives and only gets pain back, dismissing other characters cas had a special bond with, it also took credit away from his own heroics and actions and made it all about just impressing dean, not about cas rebelling against heaven endless times because that's who he is, the embodiment of free will, even chuck got annoyed by it,remember 14x20? dean was eager to follow chuck in kiling jack, sam was torn apart, but Castiel outright refused, knew it was wrong and challenged god himself about it, and once again defied him, because it was the right thing, because he loved jack in a very pure unconditional fatherly way.

and what was upsetting, is that cas is the one who needed the validation, the closure, to be shown gratefulness for ALL the sacrifices he made, to be given peace and reassurance he was a hero, and no matter his mistakes he meant well, and did save the whole world single handedly but the show tried to paint it as ''going dark side'' because? using a demon is... bad? (looks at dean taking an unnecessary mark on s9 even though they could have just repeated the devil trap bullet thing and cut abaddon to pieces and problem solved)

cas always is the one to forgive, to care, to love so unconditionally even though it gets exploited, in his death it should have been him getting a bit of that for once.

that's why i showed balthazar, meg, other angels as his true happiness, no disrespect no seeing him just as a tool, they loved him, cared about him, and defended him

and many of the statements made in that speech were just false, supernatural loves showing one thing, then gaslight us all and tell another, it won't work on me, if you don't have any idea of what consistency is i do and in this video i showed it

i won't even get into the ship stuff, the scenes speak for themselves, and i think that I love you WAS the queerbaiting people love to bring up, not decoration or slowed down scenes to get a ''dean was awful to cas but look at his face!", even in the script, it says best friend, and he gave a similar speech in 12x12, so if jack or sam were there, they would be included in the i love you as well, and he did tell them before

i respect shippers who want to see something more, who manage to ignore or explain away how badly dean treats cas, but it's not ''the one and only canon'' the writers left it very ambiguous on purpose, to bait without giving anything and dean barely said 2 lines anyway.

and i think, it's not the confession itself that was his ''happiest moment ever'', as he said, happiness is in being not having, so cas created a loophole, tried to feel happy in order for the empty to be summoned , and whatever made him happy we don't know, it could be anything .

and so i assume, it's the prospect of saving his family, of keeping the world safe from billy, but also looking forward to see meg in the empty, that gave him enough happiness to summon his death, and canon supports it, the empty read castiel's mind and knows ''there was nothing for him back there'' because the one time cas was alive, not on a mission or serving just being, just loving, was when he was with meg

and what chuck said last ep, saving dean never changed any castiel, it was following orders, but this castiel never followed them, not completely, and this castiel instead of following the scrpit, chose to save sam, and chose to save the whole world from raphael. and nothing could change that.

anyway, i will always love castiel, and remember him as the hero in his own right, a warrior, a great loving angel watching over humanity, giving everything to protect and save them, i'll mourn his losses, what could have been if writers tried to respect him instead of those petty games and jabs at him. he deserved so much better than his treatment, he deserved so much better than his last moment being all about someone else, that someone else who hurt him the most, and yes changed him, but for the worst after years of emotional abuse.

you can love dean, i respect that, but he did too much and it just piled up over the seasons and his actions affected both cas and jack, i can't ignore that.

goodby castiel, the angel because of whom i stopped supernatural when i was a teen, but now adore with all my heart .
