Pelletized Pine for compost medium. In 2021 this is only $6 for a 40lb bag. They're made from 100% dried and compressed pine sawdust. When the pellets get wet they swell up to absorb the liquid and fall apart into sawdust. They also help hide some of the toilet odors. You'll still want a fan vent to eliminate all odors and assist drying. With the fan
on you don't need to use as much compost medium since you don't need to completely bury the waste under the medium to avoid smells. That means you don't need to carry as much or dump the bag as frequently:
