We started hiking the Parker (Rueter-Hess) and Castle Rock Inclines in the summer of 2023 to train for the big incline in Manitou Springs, Colorado.

We chose December 6, 2023 as the day to hike the Manitou Incline. It was a nice sunny day, and the temperature was in the low 60s. It took us about 90 minutes to hike to the top, but we stopped a lot to take photos. We've heard that it takes the average person between 1 and 2 hours to get to the top, so we felt pretty good about our time.

Most people go down the Barr Trail, which is a three-mile hike with lots of switch backs.
