Finally a bit of action of the disused South Wexford Railway line connecting Rosslare Strand (Located on the Dublin - Rosslare Line), with Waterford in the West. This line has now been disused for almost 11 years now with the last passenger train to travel across the line on the 18th September 2010.

Since the closure, Irish Rail have been keeping on top of essential maintenance on the line, such as weed spraying and inspection trips using the Inspection car.

In 2020, a campaign was launched to see the line reopen and is currently ongoing, from what I believe there will be a survey done to see weather or not the line would be profitable, the case has been made to the Irish Government to consider reopening the line for freight / passenger use.

I do wish the campaigners nothing but the best with their endeavors to reopen the line as converting the line into a greenway has become a real threat now.

Nevertheless, on Monday the 31st of May 2021, Irish Rail sent out their annual weed spraying train across the line on a beautiful summers day. MPV 790 made two trips across the line preforming a double spray.

We see the MPV 790 across various locations along the Dublin - Rosslare Line & the Disused South Wexford Line.
