Hello everyone, welcome to the unplanned way.

In today’s video, we are showing you the best south Indian restaurants in Mumbai. Matunga is one place in Mumbai that literally is a South Indian food hub in Mumbai.

Matunga is known for its restaurants serving authentic South Indian dishes in Mumbai.

Is there a better way to start your day other than the piping hot idli Sambar, Rasam Wada, and Traditional dosas with Pineapple Sheera & some filter coffee on the side?
For this, there is no place like Matunga East where the flavors of South India reside.

Here are our 6 favorite picks from some of the finest South Indian eateries in Matunga.

Ramashray :

Located just outside Matunga Station on the East side, Ramashray is a decades-old south Indian restaurant that serves delicious dosas, vadas, idlis, Filter Coffee and so much more from 5 am in the morning.
We like their Rasam Vada, Onion Mysore Dosa, Idli Sambar, Pineapple Sheera & Mysore Pak. You can certainly try them all & let us know how you liked them.
Please consider 30 mins to 1-hour waiting time during the regular lunch & dinner hours.

Cafe Mysore:

At a 5 min walk from Ramashray towards Eastern Express Highway, Cafe Mysore has made its special place in Mumbai with its authentic South Indian Delicacies. You can try Mysore Sada Dosa, Rasam Vada, Pineapple Sheera, Filter Coffee & Khotto Idli which is steamed in jackfruit leaves.
The place has a decent seating area.

Cafe Madras:

Right opposite Mysore Cafe, Mumbai has its most famous south Indian eatery that is Cafe Madras.
This place is extremely crowded all the time. You can consider yourself lucky if you get a table within 30 mins. Cafe Madras is known for celebrity visits as well. Their dosas are okayish but you can indulge in Idli Butter Podi & Other forms of idli, Vadas & also uttapams. Their filter coffee or kapi is world famous.

Arya Bhavan:

Arya Bhavan is right next to Ramashray. They have premium seating arrangements with air-conditioned compartments. Their South Indian food is mild, flavourful & hearty. You can try their idiyappam which comes with coconut stew & sambar. Along with South Indian Food, they also serve Mumbai's favorite Pav Bhaji, Poori Bhaji, and so many other varieties.

A Rama Nayak:

Right next to Cafe Mysore, A Rama Nayak has a fully Air Conditioned South Indian Food Eatery. They have traditional as well as fusion idlis and dosas. We tried their Sandwich idli which was a new dish for us. You must try their Pineapple Sheera. The rates here are slightly pricey.

Ayyappan Idli:

This is a south Indian eatery that has a pretty basic seating area. Their food is decent. We tried their Idli Podi, Rasam Vada & Chinese Dosa. The Chinese Dosa filled with Noodles was not too bad.
