We had a bad experience staying at China Town Singapore using other hotels not too long ago so the next one should be better.

ST Signature Hotel Jalan Besar Singapore can be promising specially if you travel alone, backpackers, couple or w/ friends. They offer clean rooms, a lot of bathrooms & toilet so you don't need to wait, wifi, kitchen and laundry.

Pros:
Location wise - near train jalan besar downtown blue line, police station, little india,
Cleanliness - room, bathroom and toilet is well maintained

Cons:
wifi is not stable and poor signal
If room does not have window, allergy to pollens, dust, mites can be crucial
Often cold no heater inside room
No security guards. Although door is secured using digital key
Small rooms hard to move inside and stair is dangerous

Overall ratings: 3/5 (good)
