This video kicks off a new series in which we will work our way through Husserl’s Ideas. We start with the introduction before looking at the first chapter which unpacks Husserl’s distinction between fact and essence. The former is the province of natural science, relying on experience for knowledge while the latter, as essential science, will be explored by Husserl’s pure or transcendental phenomenology.
