Jacob Abraham Camille Pissarro is one of the defining figures of #Impressionism in his fascinating oeuvre. The motifs of his paintings underwent a remarkable transformation during his creative period: while #Pissarro initially focused primarily on the rural France of his time, his interest increasingly shifted to the urban space of the French cities that were growing during industrialisation. In particular, his series on the boulevards that had just been laid out in #Paris are today regarded as highlights of the Impressionist depiction of light and atmosphere.

Two paintings in the series are compulsory paintings in the art A-levels of the state of #Lower Saxony for the 2025 and 2026 A-levels. The production was kindly supported by the "Bund Deutscher Kunsterzieher" (BDK - https://bdk-online.info/ni-de/)’.
