We are proud to announced that St Joseph's received a number of performance and production awards for our Wakakirri Story-Dance 'Fight for Justice':

- Excellent ensemble
- Excellent group dance
- Excellent lead cast
- Excellent construction and clarity
- Excellent set movement and staging
- Spirit of Wakakirri
- Best t-shirt design

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY… Our Story-Dance was awarded the National Festival Award: Human Rights Story Award!

Story-dance description; In a city, homeless and hungry plead for charity. The wealthy ignore them continuing with their luxurious lives. Villains terrorise the city. The homeless and wealthy unite and find the courage to fight for justice.

The Wakakirri panel member Amanda Phillips & Alix Kuijpers described the performance as “A standout for Wakakirri connecting through all staging elements to deliver a memorable project on socio-economic issues! ”

“The standard of performance and the stories being told by schools this year was exceptional so St Joseph's should be very proud of their award” says Wakakirri Festival Director, Adam Loxley.

Congratulations to the Year 6 students, Wakakirri Committee and of course our brilliant Expressive Arts Teachers, Mrs Daniela Zagari & Mrs Nadia Pasquini.
