श्री गणेश के एपिसोड 33 में, परशुराम जी ने अपने क्रोध में आकर बाल गणेश का एक दांत खंडित कर दिया। जब परशुराम भगवान शिव से मिलने कैलाश पर्वत पहुंचे, तो गणेश जी ने उन्हें रोका क्योंकि भगवान शिव ध्यान में लीन थे। परशुराम जी का क्रोध बढ़ गया और उन्होंने अपने परशु से गणेश पर प्रहार किया, जिससे गणेश का एक दांत टूट गया। इसी कारण गणेश जी को "एकदंत" के नाम से भी जाना जाता है।
