Music by John Williams

This is a personal audio/video homage to some of John Williams' intimate and subdued works for movies. The composer reached international success thanks mainly to his vibrant full-blown symphonic style for films like Star Wars, Superman and Raiders of the Lost Ark. However, over the years he showed also a rare sensibility for dramas that requested "small" intimate scores, like The Accidental Tourist (1988), The River (1984), Always (1989), Stepmom (1998) and Stanley & Iris (1989). These works show the quiet, wistful side of John Williams, in many cases dominated by melancholic melodies played by solo instruments like piano, cello, flute and guitar.

A special mention to the amazing artistry of all the great Los Angeles musicians who played in these film scores and brough them to life.
