Let's visit together the botanical garden of Villa Monastero.
This amazing Villa is located in Varenna, on the eastern shore of Lake Como.
The complex is made up of the villa itself, which has now been transformed into a museum, and the beautiful garden that surrounds it and extends for almost two km along the lake shore giving an amazing views on the lake and the famous Bellagio, situated on the opposite shore.
Villa Monastero was founded on the site of a former women’s monastery, the villa underwent numerous renovations in the 19th and 20th centuries that added decorative and functional elements which, however, did not change the building’s previous appearance.
