How to make a Bonding Pouch. This is a step by step DIY tutorial on how to make a bonding pouch with a zipper for sugar gliders, hedgehogs, chinchillas, rats and even ferrets.

This bonding pouch can be made in lots of sizes. I have included the measurements for two different sizes below,. I have also included the link to my video showing how to to a ladder stitch also know as a blind stitch. To keep any threads for being exposed on the inside of your pouch, I recommend sewing the inside opening closed by hand using the ladder stitch.

MATERIALS USED IN THIS TUTORIAL (see links below)
- Sewing Machine
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Pen
- clips or pins
- Mesh
- Zipper
- Fleece
- Cotton

*** Measurements for 9” x 11” Pouch:
1 - piece of fleece 10” x 22” (inside fabric)
1 - piece of cotton, fleece, or denim 10” x 22” (outside fabric)
2 - pieces of Mesh 10” x 3”
2 -pieces of cotton 2” x 1.5” (zipper tab)
1 - 9” zipper
1 - piece of 1” or 1/2”;poly strapping approx. 45” long

*** Measurements for 12” x 14” Pouch:
1 - piece of fleece 13 x 29” (inside fabric)
1 - piece of cotton, fleece, or denim 13 x 29” (outside fabric)
2 - pieces of Mesh 13” x 3”
2 -pieces of cotton 2” x 1.5” (zipper tab)
1 - 14” zipper
1 - piece of 1” or 1/2” poly strapping approx. 45” long
