This is the finale to my my bike ride across America story. Most journeys are never perfect and my bike ride was full of surprises. When I set out on this trip I never would have imagined the twist and turns that would unfold.

A dream I had for over 5 years, that became reality in 2021. I chose to ride The Great American Rail Trail and this episode is focused on the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park’s Towpath. It was the trail that encouraged me to try because it has campsites all along the trail. I figured at the time I could bike from campsite to campsite until I could do longer miles.

As a plus size Black women, I never saw myself getting out there but stories during the pandemic peaked my curiosity and encouraged me to see what is possible. This series took way to long to create due to me not thinking I had enough footage. But to combat perfectionism and overthinking I forced myself to edit it and see what I could come up with.
