This week, we visit Kenneth’s 3-room flat in Bedok, where he lives with his 5-month-old puppy, Gingko. As an architect at Quarters Architects, he decided to design his own home, transforming it from a cramped, dated resale flat into a clean, Japandi style sanctuary that embraces the Japanese philosophy of wabi sabi. Taking centre stage here is the multipurpose built-in table, which opens out into the living area on one side and the kitchen on the other. A variety of interesting textures, DIY decor from recycled materials, and thoughtfully considered design details such as the consistent horizon line running through the entire home to serve as a visual marker, crafted a space that is uniquely his. Join us as we take a home tour of this architect’s home.
