On today’s episode of the Daily Pitchfork , we talk about the WR1. If you don’t know who the wide receiver 1 is right now, it’s as easy as looking at the box score for last night’s thriller. Yeah I could talk about our amazing 4th quarter defense , or the in game adjustments made by Brian Ward. Or I could talk about Sam Leavitts toughness as he took a shot to the head on a targeting call. Although, what truly broke out of its shell was the man Jordyn Tyson. This guy is the definition of a WR1. Our passing game needed to break out last night, and it did. 6 catches for 120 yards and a tuddy. Jordyn won his 1v1 matchups when it mattered most. Whether it was on 3rd conversions or the crazy play action post touchdown that brought us back within 1 possession in the 2nd quarter. I loved what I saw from this guy. My favorite play was his aggressiveness in drawing a defensive pass interference on a well read Sam Leavitt free play.

Above it all, your team is 3-0. For the first time in 5 years, we can escape the out of conference activity , and begin to focus on what’s in front of us in the Big 12. The sky is the limit in a conference where every team looks beatable . Sam Leavitt proved he may be a top half QB in the conference and our identity on both sides of the field is something that can’t be devalued . Yeah, teams are gonna have talent all year, but establishing an identity and having the team bought in, is the most difficult aspect to college football. We’ve responded to adversity and have been consistent in our approach . A professional approach coached by Kenny Dillingham. Real recognizes real , so best of luck to Coach GJ Kinne as he turns that Texas State program around.
