How To Make a Origami Paper Catfish(Traditional Japanese culture,日本伝統文化,折り紙,なまず）

今日はこの「なまず」を折りたいと思います。

Today, I’ll make this “catfish”.

まず色のついている面を上にして、対角線で折り筋をつけます。

Colored side is up, and make a diagonal crease.

次に裏返して、縦横に半分に折り筋をつけます。

Turn it over, and make horizontal and vertical creases.

対角線で折ります。

Fold it in half diagonally.

広げてつぶすように折ります。

Open and squash it.

一枚折り上げます。

Fold up the one part of paper.

中心線に合わせるように折ります。

Fold it to put the sides together with the center line.

さらに半分に細くするように折ります。

Fold it in half again to make it thin.

白い部分を折り下げます。

Fold down the white part,

折った角を内側にしまいます。

and put this corner inside.

角を斜め上に中割り折りします。

Make an inside reverse fold diagonally for the corners.

裏返します。

Turn it over.

頂点をつぶし、全体的に下に引き伸ばすように折ります。

Squash the apex, and extend it downward on the whole.

色がついているところも含めた角全体の半分のところで折り筋をつけます。

Make a creases by folding the corners, including the colored part, in half.

つけた折り筋に沿って折ります。

Fold it to put the sides together with the creases.

ついている折り筋で折ります。

Fold it following the creases.

先端の折りが交わるところは立体的なまま残しておきます。

For the end, leave it three­dimensionally.

裏返します。

Turn it over.

口を開け、ひげを細く折りながら形を整えていきます。

Open the mouth, make the whiskers thin, and adjust the shape.

これでなまずの完成です。

A catfish is completed.
