Ustad Dildar Hussain Khan Saab is a very giving and down to earth human being first of all. Thereafter he also happens to be the living godfather of Qawwali Tabla; what he doesn't know about it is simply not worth knowing.

Whilst he's been here in the UK with QalandarArts since late May, we have been trying to capture him on film. In interview, in performance and demonstration as well. Much of this content is visible on our Instagram and YouTube channel with a lot more to be released over the coming months.

Last weekend, following a performance in central London, Ustadji graced my house for the second time and we managed to sit down for a little conversation.

As I say in the video, I am not a trained musician, I know nothing about the technicalities of the genre, about raag, or tabla in general. I am simply a lover of this music and Ustadji himself. From that perspective this conversation was held with Ustadji. Forgive me for any shortcomings in this conversation.
