過去日子，成為地質公園的官方合作攝影師，以全新的藝術風格來展示整個地質公園區域的景觀，耗時兩年，獨自完成整個系列的相片及影片。

很多人覺得，過去疫情兩年困在香港，無法看到世界級的風光，但一直忽略了自己居住的地方。香港就是沒有大山大水，拍攝環境也是充滿難度．但對我來說，是一個好機會向大家展示香港被遺忘的景色。

【 Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark | 4K UHD | Kelvin Yuen 🇭🇰】


Two years ago, I was fortunate to be appointed as the official partner photographer of the HK Geopark. The given task was to show the landscape of the entire Geopark area with a new artistic approach. It took me two years to complete both the photos and videos.

Many people feel that the epidemic has trapped us down in Hong Kong for the past two years, and we cannot see any world-class scenery locally. They have neglected all the beautiful scenery in the place where we live. True, Hong Kong has no high rugged mountains or broad and rapid rivers. And the shooting environment is also full of difficulties. But for me, it is an excellent opportunity to show the audience the forgotten scenery of Hong Kong.


"If not at home, must be roaming around in the hillsides."

At Geopark, you should not imagine finding those colorful and classic Hong Kong urban landscapes. It is a mysterious area unknown to most people living in Hong Kong. It is the place I am most familiar with.

This place is of great importance to me. I have been practicing photograph techniques there for almost a quarter of my life, the past six years. It has given me countless inspirations and guided me to develop my shooting techniques and aesthetic considerations and development.


"Hong Kong has world-class natural geological wonders!"

I have traveled to so many places globally; the Hong Kong Geopark has always held a most significant position in my mind. It has also attracted me to keep returning to photograph in the past few years. This area has all the essential elements to capture beautiful photographs.

However, not a single foreign photographer has discovered this landscape. It is a legacy and the most precious remaining pearl of the sea and deserves to be known. Still, it needs someone to execute the duty of revealing the beauty of this place to the public.


"Extremely not conforming with economic benefits!"

I implemented a plan that is exceptionally meticulous and uneconomical, especially to the fast-food culture of Hong Kong. I spent two years, regardless of all cost and efforts, determined to present the most stunning gorgeous aspect of the Geopark through a series of photos and videos.

The filmmaking is an additional project from the original plan. It is not easy to control the qualities of both aspects simultaneously. The weight of the equipment has also doubled from the past. Therefore, it was both physically and psychologically demanding, the difficulty of the task has become a significant test.


"Shooting as a local photographer!"

It is a hell-level shooting project, but I know that only local photographers can have this geographical advantage and bear spending lengthy time with this place.

In the past two years, I visited all the islands in the Geopark. I spent more than 20 days exploring and shooting there every month, from winter to summer, and then from summer to winter, with a heavy load of equipment. I have visited numerous mountains and suffered countless mosquitoes. I am lost in words if I had to describe those hardships.

I took every single shot with unquantifiable effort. Every image pursues and consumes the ultimate shooting conditions presented to create the most excellent outcome. I repeatedly walk the same mountain road, again and again. I carry the same equipment and visit the exact location again and again until I have achieved all my requirements. I strive and am willing to do everything to the extreme all my life, but I think I will not do another one for at least another ten years. I believe my audience will understand projects of this scale are always nightmares.

Finally, I hope that everyone will share this video of mine so that more people get to know the hidden treasure of Hong Kong.
