Building a performance skateboard park takes professional help.

Patrick Morello of Land Inc explains just how architectural concreting is vastly different from other forms, limiting the number of qualified contractors capable of building a skate park.

Construction is handled by Patterned Concrete Company who have been building such parks since the first Toronto park in the late 80’s.

“The whole structure” Morello says, “is designed to flow with very few expansion joints which interfere with skating.” “We’ve been involved in designing about 45 parks and built about half that”

Jon Parrott of Land Inc. brings with him personal research from the best parks in the world. “It’s a Land Inc standard to bring new and exciting features such as the taco clam-shell ramp” to each new park.

You’ll watch as the concrete is introduced, part of surprisingly complicated construction. There are numerous plans and invisible structures like drainage not noticed on first view. Come, take the video tour!
