Bede Griffiths was a Benedictine monk, a pioneer of the Christian-Hindu dialogue, and the head of Shantivanam, a Christian ashram in India. Here he discusses his life in India, his attempts to enrich the Christian contemplative path through Hindu mysticism, and his hope for the formation of small lay contemplative communities in the West. We filmed this interview in Sept., 1992. Fr. Bede died the following year in June, 1993 at the age of 86.
