Renting a bicycle and traveling through the Wachau Valley is a big hidden gem when visiting the Austria countryside. Located in the heart of Austria’s wine country, it features vineyards, rolling hills, charming villages, historic monasteries while biking all along the Danube River. The UNESCO world heritage landscape is one of the most enjoyable day trips you could make from Vienna and well worth the 70-minute train ride from downtown. Starting in Krems, we made stops in Unterloiben, Dürnstein, Weißenkirchen, Wösendorf, Spitz and finished the ride in Melk. Join us as we look back and review our bike ride in the Wachau Valley in Austria.
