Keeping your house clean while homeschooling is a challenge. Housekeeping is my biggest challenge as a homeschool mom. Being home a large portion of the day and learning in it creates lots of messes, so how can you keep it clean, but still maintain a positive learning environment? As well as teach your kids to participate in housework without paying them or bribing them with toys, candy, or other tangible items?

Over the years I’ve figured out a method that works well for our family, one where:

✔️my kids work and clean because they know they’re a member of the family and it’s their duty to participate. They are not compensated.
✔️theres a balance between cleanliness and learning. I.e. the house gets cleaned on a regular basis, but it’s not the focus of our lives and there is space for experimentation and learning.
