An explore of the centuries old Delabole Slate Quarry at the village of Delabole in North Cornwall which has been worked for over 600 years for it's exceptional quality of slate, mainly sought after for many roofs around the country and further afield.
The pit is described as being over 425 feet deep which is partially full of water and over one and a half miles in circumference, it once employed more than 1,000 people and the slate originally was extracted through blasting Technics but is now extracted using diamond cutting machines.
