THE VIDEO: This is a 360° bicycle riders-eye-view. You can move the focal point to look in any direction. This is my regular ride into Paris, recorded in September 2024 at just after 9am.

THE ROUTE: This 13km (8 mi) ride from the Marne River in Joinville-le-Pont will take us to the Hôtel de Ville in the heart of Paris. We will start near Boulangerie Simon on Rue Diderot in Champigny-sur-Marne, on the border with Joinville-le-Pont where we will quickly pick up the path by the Marne River. We cross the Marne on the road bridge (5:11) and find our way to Rue de Paris passing the shops before heading down the hill toward the Canal de Saint-Maur (where yes, I get beeped by a car). Here we again pick up the Marne River following its flow toward Paris.

The Marne River intersects with the Seine River (20:03) at which point look left and you'll see the pagoda-styled building of the Huatian Chinagora Hotel which stands at the confluence of the two rivers. From here the ride isn't as pleasant as the path runs next to the noisy A4 highway with the Seine River on your left. We officially enter Paris by riding under the Boulevard Périphérique (25:37), Paris's ring road. From here I'll ride beside the road before once again getting down by the river to Hôtel de Ville.
