"Sacred Territory in defense of the Kintuante, Documentary“
In a community Huilliche Mapuche, located in the Tenth Region of Los Lagos, Chile, there is an ancient spiritual space where Huilliche Mapuche communities have gathered over the years to make their own ceremonies and prayers of their culture, all for the welfare of this Holy Land. These prayers are addressed to the NEN Mapu Kintuante, the spirit that protects the land and brings spirituality to these communities. A few years ago this area has been invaded by three energy companies interested in the construction of three hydroelectric power plants, which will flood this land and its sacred space, therefore eliminating an ancestral culture. With the extinction of their land, the Mapuche people will not only loose their land, but also their beliefs, traditions, spirituality and culture.
