A four day loop through a perfect mix of familiar and new terrain. Having previously traveled over both Lamarck Col and Bishop Pass on separate trips, I was eager to connect the terrain between the two. It did not disappoint! I was met with perfect weather-chilly but not super cold- and except for a very windy end to my second day winds were calm and the skies were blue.

The highlight of the trip would be my last night's camp and last morning's locale-Upper Dusy Basin. It's tough to beat remote high alpine lakes, with a backdrop like the 14,000' Palisade Crest. It was a real treat to enjoy an evening and a long, lazy morning there.

The biggest surprise of the trip was the barren, rockbound landscape of the JMT South of Evolution Lake. It came as a welcome surprise, and was a reminder for just how rugged the area is despite the Sierra Superhighway running through it.

A great trip as always!
