Oregon Sea Grant offers a variety of educational, hands-on activities for kids at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport. One of them is our one-hour "speedy science" class in which students use the scientific method as they answer the question, what makes shore crabs fast? They make hypotheses, design experiments, observe the crabs, collect data, analyze the results, and draw conclusions.
