JFRD responded to a residential structure fire to an apartment building in which crews were met with heavy smoke coming from a multi unit building. As more crews arrived on scene, command realized that the fire was now in the common attic space and more manpower was needed, so a second alarm was called.
Crews worked at setting up a ladder pipe in case interior crews were unable to get the fire under control from the inside as flames had now vented through the roof.
Fortunately interior crews handled business and an exterior fight was not needed.
Sit back and watch this RAW footage and see various tasks going on across the scene during this fire fight and race of time.
There were no injuries in this fire...the cause of the fire was under investigation by the Bureau of fire, arson, and explosives investigations, and the Red Cross was called to assist at least 10 people affected by this fire.
