Hand dusters work for small jobs, but for larger applications, like dusting wall voids or ceilings, you need something that puts out a lot of dust. If you really want to kill the bugs, then build one of these. It works with all dusts, including diatomaceous earth, and boric acid.

Please note that one of the problems with using the reducers is that it greatly restricts the dust that comes out. I have a fix for that problem now. Just remove the reducer, put a tablespoon of boric acid directly into the vacuum hose, replace the reducer, and insert it into the hole in the wall. Turn on the vacuum and the dust will immediately blow into the wall. For insulated walls, drill the hole in a downward angle, so that you don't blow the dust into the insulation.
