Kazakhstan is a huuuuge country so to get anywhere from the caspian sea coast was going to take a long time. The city I wanted to visit - Turkistan - was 35hours away! It had been a really long time since I'd done a sleeper train so it was an interesting experience and it was all worth it in the end.
