John knew that his mission and purpose in life was to prepare the way for Jesus. Our mission in life is always to make way for God, making Jesus the center of it all.

When one is given a role by God, one must perform it faithfully but never hold on to it. The mission is to COMPLETE, not compete. The Lord can give but the Lord can also take it away.

The ROLE is not your reward, the LORD is your reward!

It is not how many material things we have increased in our lives, but how much Jesus has increased in our lives.

John 3:30 says, “He must increase, but I must decrease.”
