I have lost track of the number of Small World Moments I have had while sailing. You know, those times you are many hundreds or a thousand miles from home and meet people you know or have some connection with. It happened again in the Exumas as you'll see. I also our ran into our new friend Rob, coincidentally in the very same amazing Hawksbill Cay anchorage, though that was less of a surprise as I knew he was sailing to the Bahamas before-hand. I arrived first so he asked me where I was. I said I'm hiding, come and find me. A game of hide and seek ensued but he eventually found me. He visited Avocet then showed me his Chuck Paine designed Apogee 50. Rounding out the episode is a beautiful sail to Staniel Cay and a long-overdue trip to a small local store. There aren't many in the Exumas so everyone converges there and they do a good business. I wonder how many Small World Moments took place there. There have to have been more than a few... The song at the end is called Lucky Me from a Newfoundland band named Great Big Sea. I think Randall does a great job with it.
