Yesterday the news broke that six time Tony Award winning Broadway star Audra McDonald would be returning to the stage in a brand new revival of GYPSY.

This new staging of the iconic musical will open later this year at the Majestic Theatre, which was previously home to the Phantom of the Opera.

Audra will follow in the footsteps of iconic Broadway Broadway leading ladies including Ethel Merman, Angela Lansbury, Tyne Daly, Bernadette Peters, and Patti LuPone.
