A do-it-yourself tutorial for fixing stuck selector knobs on the slant-o-matic models 401A and 500A. Usually, they are frozen or stuck because of dirt and dried oil. Here is where to oil and blow hot air to free them up. The knobs connect to a shaft with lifters and followers that need lubrication and cleaning. Do it yourself and get sewing again. A screwdriver, oil, and hairdryer can get things moving again. You can do this.
