Today on 3rd of September 2024 The korang Solung Giidi celebration committee has organised a grand Solung celebration at the general play ground of korang village (A.P). The programme was graced by Honโ€™ble MLA of 36 Nari koyu Shri Tojir kadu as Chief Guest and Shri. Odhuk Tabing DDSE, East Siang as Guest of Honour. On the special guest list Shri kaling Borang EX president DBYK, head GB, ZPM, GWS district president and its members and the village as a whole.
The festivities was inaugurated with hoisting of Solung flag by chief guest Shri Tojir Kadu followed by traditional Solung ponung and felicitation programme for the special invities. The dignitaries on their term, gave speeches such as special guest , guest of honour and chief guest.
while addressing the public the dignitaries spoke about the reasons behind celebrating Solung festival, while few of the speakers highlighted on the areas that needs special focus concerning to the development of the village and lastly they all urged the youths to always follow the right path in life.
While, Honโ€™ble MLA shri Tojir Kadu on his behalf stated about the areas that needs greater importance such as โ€œroad condition, hospitals, schools and etcโ€ further promised the village community to resolve the issues as early as possible.
The programme also witness dance and songs performed by Ane party, Mr. David padung and a Radio artist from korang village , along with shri. Mojum riram and Dalimi Kuli famous local artist in the cultural night. The festival was celebrated with great pomp and concludes with a community feast.

About the fest:
Solung; which means herds of Mithun, is a significant agricultural festival of the Adi community in Arunachal Pradesh, which is being celebrated since time memorial in the month of September, in various parts of the Adi inhabited areas. This annual harvest festival is marked by elaborate rituals, including offerings to benevolent goddess of crops and prosperity for a bumper harvest and the well being of livestock.
