In the mid-30s, 12-year-old Gabrielle, deaf from birth, runs away to Paris to find her mother, a famous silent film actress. In the 80s, Victor, 12, ventures into the footsteps of his father, whom he does not know after discovering a business card from the Museum of Natural History in Paris forgotten in an old book. Separated by 50, their quests intersect by chance.
